Led and energized the Lifestyle design team to innovate and propel Jobs, Cars, Real Estate, Rentals, Classifieds, Arts and Living, all search products, and the City Guide through quality design and communication. Used my expertise to help product managers understand the benefits of strong design and usability. Represented design in all products by producing research, site data, and clear design options to focus direction. Managed the team to achieve powerful design through, proper time management, clear alignment of business goals to user goals, and through concise design direction.

Supervised and led the award winning News Design department by providing clear direction, challenging and creative projects, and individual attention. Promoted creativity, served as a catalyst for innovation, untangled complex ideas and stories, and instructed employees on meeting deadlines by focusing on realistic goals and requirements. Organized coverage and coordinated design strategy between the News Design department and other organizational departments for special projects, such as, “Sitewide Redesign,” “Iraqi War,” “Elections 2004,” and “D.C. Sniper Coverage,” while balancing daily necessities for WPNI.
