Working with The Shola trust on creating livelihood opportunities for tribal communities living around the tiger reserve in the nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. The work revolved around creating and supporting tribal artisanal owned furniture and briquetting micro-enterprise units crafted out of this invasive weed called Lantana Camara (spread intensively in the nilgiris). Involved in core sales activities with eco-tourism resorts/institutional sales/retail partners which involved generating leads, meeting potential customers, introducing them to products and services and getting feedback from them.Involved in other cost-effective marketing activities for promoting the product like developing marketing content, brochure, presentations and handling Facebook page for this initiative. Working closely with artisans on new product development, order completion and also supplier and raw material management. Creating linkages with government schemes and financial institutions for flow of credit

India Fellows is a pioneering leadership program that nurtures young talent to create socially responsible leaders for India. This transformative program focuses on experiential learning. Fellows designate spend 15 months working on grassroots development projects with NGOs, interspersed with modules on management training and leadership development. The entire experience provides Fellows designate with knowledge, insight and commitment to inclusive growth.Project 1- Livelihood improvement of rural women through livestock and allied activities in Kalahandi district of odisha – Sahabhagi vikas abhiyan Odisha (SVA) (6 months)Conducted a baseline study for the mapping of potential livelihood activities for livestock in villages of Narla block, Kalahandi. Organized Animal care and de-worming camps along with the government veterinary department for better livestock rearing practices.Conducted a market survey for paneer and worked on a business plan for a small scale diary processing unit.Project 2- Creating livelihood opportunities for rural communities through eco-friendly bamboo products in Konkan Maharashtra- Konkan bamboo and cane development centre (Konbac) (6 months)Involved in other cost effective marketing activities like developing marketing content, brochure, presentations and handling the Facebook page for the organization.Involved in core sales activities of the enterprise which involved generating leads, meeting potential customers, introducing them to products and services, getting feedback from them to shape strategy and bring in orders.Coordinating between designers and artisans on refining and improving the product prototypes.Conducted a cluster diagnostic study for bamboo cluster development in Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra.
