I am a full-time academician, researcher, and project expert in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the College of Business and Economics, Jimma University, Ethiopia. I hold a BA degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, and MA in Tourism Development and Management from Addis Ababa University. Currently, I teach several tourism and hospitality management courses, including Introduction to Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Operations, Tourism Resources of Ethiopia, Front Office Management, Tourism Policy and Planning, Travel Agency and Tour Operation Management, Principles and Practice of Tour Guiding, Event Tourism, Ecotourism Management, Tourism and Hospitality Marketing, Sustainable Tourism, Destination Development, and Housekeeping Management for undergraduate students at Jimma University. My research interests focus on nature-based tourism development and management, destination development, community-based ecotourism development, tourism potential assessment, new tourism products and service development, and sustainable tourism development. My priority project areas rely on community-based ecotourism development to maximize the economic benefits of the marginalized members of the host community from the tourism sector while protecting and conserving the tourism resources of the destination area.
