I am seeking a research position in the life sciences industry to expand my lab and research skill set.At the UCLA Krantz Lab, I performed molecular biology techniques such as PCR and DNA gels for studies exploring neurotransmitter activity and effects in Drosophila. I am a co-author for a Journal of Neuroscience publication linked under my Publications tab. I have experience in molecular cloning, bacteria plating, and fly husbandry. I've also dabbled in western blots, mammalian cell culture, and aseptic technique.At the UCLA Center of Cannabis and Cannabinoids at the Semel Institute, I gained experience working in a clinical laboratory and research setting. I ran clinical research visits, entered data into an EDC system, and administered and analyzed drug and urine tests identifying pregnancy and opiate, cannabis, cigarette, and alcohol use. While working there, I completed independent research on U.S. public use of cannabidiol (CBD) to prevent COVID-19 infection. I concluded my research with a scientific paper which included results from coding my data using R. I presented my research at two UCLA conferences and was accepted to present at the SACNAS NDiSTEM 2022 conference in Puerto Rico.While working at UCLA WI+RE, I spearheaded projects to help undergraduates obtain research positions at UCLA and gained knowledge on the research process and structure.
