I am an ambassador for Squash BC where together, we are helping develop squash programs in smaller towns where they have squash courts.

One of two coaches at the biggest multi sport event in Canada which takes place every 4 years. We took 4 boys and 4 girls to this event and got several gold medals for BC.

Taught squash to boys and girls of various ages through this non-profit organization that caters to at-risk youth in various areas of Vancouver.This was a very inspiring opportunity because I felt like I really had an impact on the path these kids take in life by encouraging and inspiring them to have an active lifestyle with squash.

Instructing a number of introductory squash and badminton programs for kids and adults for a duration of eight to ten weeks at local recreation centres. The programs were: adult squash (18+), kids squash (8-12), adult badminton (18+), kids badminton (7-9), and kids badminton (10-12). Running sessions in accordance to the needs of the various age groupsPlanning and carrying out sessions within allotted time.Providing the necessary tools to enjoy each sport within the 8-10 week time frame.

Planning and organizing lessons for five different sections as well as my schedule to ensure my punctuality and success of each class. Being a teacher and an instructor by providing necessary material (verbally and written), communicating clearly, demonstrating skills correctly, evaluating skills and knowledge, and organizing students. Communicating ideas, expectations, objectives, and responsibilities to a group of young adults.Being supportive and sensitive to students meanwhile maintaining a level of respect and authority.

With the help of another TA, we developed effective and fair marking schemes for assignments. Addressed issues regarding assignments and clarified questions regarding course material and expectations.We were also responsible for conducting lectures at least once each semester when the professor could not attend.
