CurrentImprove welfare policies for aquatic animals around the globe by identifying strategic opportunities to engage with and influence policy evolution and decisions on an international scale.Policy Strategy/Leadership● Plan and organize ALI’s global policy initiatives to achieve specific objectives, key results, and action plans● Evolve ALI's policy priorities in accordance with Effective Altruism principles, ensuring strategies are impactful and rooted in ethical considerations● Direct the Aquatic Animal Policy (AAP) focus group's activities to align with ALI's guiding principles of reducing, refining, replacing, and rejecting practices harmful to aquatic life● Work closely with the Managing Director to track metrics and progress, report on policy initiatives, and troubleshoot organizational challenges● Identify opportunities and contribute to efforts to secure funding for policy initiativesRepresentation/Communications● Spearhead advocacy efforts, serve as a spokesperson for ALI, and represent the organization at external events to articulate our mission and strategies compellingly● Maintain robust communication with coalition leads, key organizational partners, and ALI staff● Engage actively in external movement calls, discussions, working groups, and platforms to bring ALI's perspective to broader conversations● Explore and establish connections with potential partners and coalition members to expand ALI’s network and influence● Amplify ALI’s presence and influence in policy-making circles by actively engaging in key policy groups
