About Giulia Di Tommaso

International strategic advisor on sustainability, innovation and food systems. Member of the Board of Fondazione Aurora.I’m a purpose led professional, senior advisor to private sector and other stakeholders on sustainability, innovation, strategic partnerships and food systems, with over thirty years of experience leading the development and the implementation of transformation, reputation, advocacy and sustainability strategies, public-private partnerships, risks and issue management, as well as legal and compliance in global executive roles. In addition to my advisory role to corporate and other stakeholders on sustainability and partnerships, I'm on the Board of Fondazione Aurora, a private not-for profit organisation committed through catalytic intervention to scaling up African young and innovative enterprises with social and economic impact in Sub-Saharan Africa. I strongly believe in the innovative power of collaborations and partnerships to create impact and address systemic changes. I bring over a decade with Unilever in global executive roles, working with the CEOs, contributing to the development of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and to achieve some of the transformational partnerships and programs, including innovative business models with smallholders. Formerly President & CEO CropLife International, representing the R&D-agriculture inputs sector, I developed and launched a new vision, purpose and strategy for the plant science industry, achieved key strategic partnerships with a range of global stakeholders, including FAO and launched multiple transformational initiatives. I served as Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer at Ferrero and an advisor to FAO on public-private partnerships. Over the years I have built a unique network within international organizations including the World Economic Forum, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Investment Climate Facility for Africa, the Transatlantic Business Dialogue, the EU-Africa Summit, the UN organizations (FAO, IFAD, WFP), the World Bank, and the EU institutions. I’m an attorney at law and hold a master's in European law. Alumna of the Oxford Said Business School on Social Finance and of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, UK.
