Hi! My name is Giulia and I am an Italian building engineer and architect with a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering with a thesis project developed at Universitad Nacional de Ingenierìa de Lima - FAUA: "Architectural and urban redevelopment of the Monserrate district of Lima (Peru). Rethinking the "Estación de tren de Monserrate" for a new urban centrality".I'm interested in spatial justice, socially responsible and humanitarian architecture, and inclusivity in urban planning and design. It is my priority to design spaces for people and with people, as well as to be involved in the most critical urban situations affecting the world's poorest territories. Always recognizing the communities’ importance in participatory processes. I am currently working as an architect at Asociación Semillas para el Desarrollo Sostenible, a non-profit organization based in Lima, Pangoa and San Ignacio, Perù. Where I am learning about sustainable design, the innovation of appropriate technologies using renewable resources, as well as in participatory design and management. I am a member of Architetti senza Frontiere Italia, I collaborate with the non-profit association Mattone su Mattone for projects related to the self-construction of low-cost raw earth buildings in developing countries and I took part in a volunteer trip for the construction of an elementary school promoted by the NGO Let's build my school in Senegal where I learned the construction techniques of superadobe and clay bricks.I worked as an architect and engineer at the ProgettoB20 studio, where I dealt with design in the field of public procurement, and followed the projects in various phases, from concept design to technical detail, from preliminary to final and executive phases, tender projects, and some site visits. I collaborated with the international studio Teresa Sapey + Partners in Madrid for an urban regeneration project for a small medieval village in southern Italy.
