At one point in my life I tried to get the job through Italian agencies but with no results. So I went to London, and I couldn't be happier when the first job ad I saw was for a role of local host at one of the most important global tour operators.Well, actually I could: when I was called for the interview. Even happier? When I got hired. Happierer? When what was supposed to be a seasonal job has been confirmed as a permanent contract for the following four years.But what does a local host do, you may ask? Well, actually I covered a variety of roles during the years: • as a local Host in several hotels around central London for our Trafalgar/Insight/Brendan Vacations/Costsaver guests my job was to provide information and assistance during their stay in London; help them with any problems they could have; selling tours and attractions in and outside of London (btw, I achieved and overcome sales targets: 10x monthly top seller in the seasons 2015/2016/2017) • as a Tour Director I led groups for guided sightseeings of London and half day tours to Windsor, providing coach commentaries, information and assistance• as a Reception host I was responding to enquiries from our customers and suppliers via phone and email, performing admin duties and much more

I spent with them five summers seasons as part of the entertainment staff in different campsites and holiday resorts in the Veneto region. We provided daily entertainment activities in facilities that could host up to 12 thousands guests coming from all over Europe, but mainly Italy, Germany and Netherlands. MY FIRST JOB IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY, SO FAR ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES EVERI was team leader of a staff of three dedicated to the entertainment of the young guests of an Alpitour holiday resort in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt. I planned the entertainment of children and teens of Italian and International families, with sport activities, social games and excursions. I involved them in the organization of night shows on the main stage, writing variety and musical shows that could fit their skills. Meanwhile, I was providing my constant support to the local entertainment staff in the organization of the adults entertainment activities and night shows. A great summer in which not only I learned a lot about one of the best jobs ever, but much more about myself and my capabilities.
