Founder And Operations ManagerMuseo Storico Dei Motori E Dei Meccanismi (Museum Of Engines And Mechanisms) Mar 2008 - PresentPalermo, ItaliaStrategy, development, operations management• Promoted, planned and realised the museum (inaugurated in 2011) managing engineering and manufacturing activities, procurement and fundraising operations.• Planned and executed the museum development strategy, increasing exhibit areas (+20%), equipment as well as financial and human resources (+4 person through a PON IOG project).• Led working groups (up to 25 person) and technical tutor of 30+ internships.Public engagement, partnership and promotion work• Co-developed and managed 40+ cultural events, temporary exhibits, an international workshop, technical conferences, ensuring an increase of the museum visitors per year: from 2300 in 2011, to 3800 in 2015 and more than 4000 expected in 2016.• Coordinated the University of Palermo support activities for 5 editions (2012-2016) of the international classic car event Targa Florio Classic and Ferrari Tribute (hosted main exhibit locations and headquarters of the events).• Established and developed partnerships with several institutions and companies. • Established and managed several promotional works and media relations, with a result of more than 45 articles covering the museum and its activities, published on national and international magazines, newspapers, radio and TV reports.• Co-editor of the book Essays on the History of Mechanical Engineering, Springer International Publishing.Restoration works and collection enhancement• Planned and personally carried out the conservative/total restoration of the 300+ elements (engines, mechanisms, didactical and laboratory devices) of the museum collection. The overall asset value, higher than 1 million EUR, has been increased of 10 times from the scrap initial conditions of most elements.• Expanded the museum collection leading research, procurement and restoration of new elements: more than 25 pieces of noteworthy technical and historical value, including a 1950 FIAT G.59 aircraft (1 of 5 existing).

Holder Of An Academic Research GrantUniversità Degli Studi Di Palermo - Mma Lab - Laboratory Of Engines Jan 2014 - Dec 2017Palermo, ItaliaResearch activities and scientific publications:• Carried out experimental researches on HCCI (Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition) combustion with NG-gasoline mixtures, the simultaneous combustion of gaseous fuel (LPG or NG) and gasoline mixtures (Double Fuel Combustion) in spark ignition engines, with particular regards to knock resistance and supercharged engine application.• Supported the development of knock prediction models for SI engines fuelled with gasoline, gaseous fuels, mixtures of gasoline and gas (NG or LPG).• Designed and developed several experimental set-up, including a supercharging system for the Laboratory of Engines.• Co-author of 20 scientific papers describing the main experimental results obtained: 14 published on international journal (e.g.: Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power etc.), 6 presented at international conferences (e.g.: ICE2013 - 11th International Conference on Engine & Vehicles) acting as speaker.• Planned and executed (including financial responsibility) the experimental research project for an innovative double fuel injection strategy for automotive engines, winner of a Sicilian Government grant reserved to under 30 people.Didactic work:• Assistant supervisor of 9 specialist degree thesis and 7 bachelor degree thesis in mechanical engineering.• Teaching tutor of theoretical and practice exercitations for the academic course Internal Combustion Engine (2012 - 2015), Fluid Machinery (2010 - 2012, and 2014 - 2015), Mechanical Drives (2009 - 2010). -
