I was responsible for the Climate-Kic European Project "Lions2Life" technical aspects. A 6.5 kWh lithium-ion (Li-Ion) energy storage system (ESS) has been fully designed and mounted, employing second-life Li-Ion cells that come from e-bikes batteries.Main tasks:• Second-life Li-Ion cell analysis;• Electrical and mechanical design & mounting of the 6.5 kWh Li-Ion ESS;• Battery management system (BMS) configuration;• Testing and characterisation of the 6.5 kWh Li-Ion ESS;• Installation of the storage system within the innovation lab "La Pinada Lab", in Paterna (Valencia, Spain);• Design of a Li-Ion ESS remote monitoring system.Skills:• Low-voltage / high-power mechanical and electrical installation & safety knowledge;• Batrium BMS;• Megacellcharger Li-Ion cell's charger;• IoT services, e.g. ThingSpeak and Grafana;• 3D printing.

I followed the development of a manufacturing technology for the fabrication of small solar panels exploiting Pick&Place technology, within the Eurostars Project "Pick&Place PV: Automated module manufacturing using Pick&Place technology", as an electronic research engineer of the NTC Photovoltaic group. I took care of most of the technical aspects of the Project.Main tasks:• Design and optimisation of low-power solar modules;• Adaptation of Pick&Place technology to solar module manufacturing, along a pilot SMT line;• Design and fabrication of an IoT solar powered GNSS tracker, in collaboration with TST (Santander, Spain);• Test and characterisation of the solar modules, including IEC 61215 qualification tests run in a climatic chamber;• Thermal fatigue analysis;• 3D design and printing of tools and carriers needed in the screen-printing and in the P&P steps;• Encapsulation of solar modules;• Technical management of the Project.Skills:• ECAD (Altium, OrCAD);• SolidWorks;• COMSOL.
