Giuseppe Vecchio got his master degree in Molecular Biology on October 2005 at the University of Salento, Italy. In July 2009 he got his Ph.D. degree in Nanoscience at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (NNL) - Scuola Superiore ISUFI (Teaching and Research centre of excellence, attached to the University of Salento, Italy). During his Ph.D. course his research is dedicated to development of biochips (Lab-On-Chip) for genomics analysis. From 10/2009 to 10/2012 he worked as Post-Doc at the Environment, Health&Safety (EHS) Research Platform - Center for Bio-Molecular Nanotechnology at Italian Institute of Technology (CBN-IIT@UniLe), Italy. During this period his research activities were highly interdisciplinary (in the fields of nanotechnology, Lab-On-a-Chip development for diagnostics application, nanomedicine, nanotoxicology and nanobiotechnology) and intensively focused on the understanding the interaction between nanomaterials and living systems.Specialties: Research in the field of nanotoxicology and intensively focus on understanding the interaction between nanomaterials and living systems.Design and development of a lab-on-chip device for diagnostic and proteomic analyses (implementation of amplification reactions of nucleic acids, on-chip microarray technology, and development of miniaturized chips based on plastics and/or soft and biocompatible materials
