As deputy president (“prorettore vicario”in Italian) my role is to support the president (“rettore” in Italian) in defining the policies of the University of Pisa, with the vision of increasing the relevance of the University in the national and international context and improving its operational effectiveness.I am also presently in charge of coordinating the research and innovation policies of the University, focusing on improving the impact of our activities on economic, social and cultural development of the national and regional context.As professor of electronics, my research interest include quantum transport and noise, nanoelectronics, integrated circuit design, and hardware-based solutions for AI and cybersecurity. I am a Fellow of the IEEE and of the APS.I am author and co-author of 320+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and 130+ papers in proceedings of international conferences. My work has received 9K+ citations on the ISI Thomson-Reuters database and 17K+ citations on Google Scholar database.
