I'm an electronic engineer, with a PhD in Electronics and a Master degree in BioEngineering, working in the field of nano-science. My main investigations are devoted to optical, electro-optical and nano-mechanical properties of anisotropic materials, including liquid crystals and soft biological tissues. I have experience in designing of mathematical models capable to simulate and predict optical and mechanical behaviour of cornea tissue. In the last years, I have been working in the adaptive optics field in order to image and processing in vivo human retinal micro-structures.I have huge experience in technological transfer and intellectual property fields. I was scientific responsible of CNR activities of the TECHNEST incubator, located at the University of Calabria (Rende, Italy). In the last years, I was project manager of the technological activities of a start-up company (Innova Solar Energy SpA) co-founded by Pierluigi Zappacosta (co-founder of Logitech) which developed the first parabolic solar concentrator system based on stirling engine. I co-founded (with my brother Marco) Vision Engineering Italy srl, SME devoted to design and develop novel method to diagnosis and treat ocular diseases. In 2019 I founded a new company (RegenSight) which is going to product and commercialize a novel platform to treat corneal diseases. I'm author of more than 100 scientific paper on peer reviewed international journals and inventor of n. 9 patents.
