I was a production metallurgist responsible for side streams and final refining processing of the PGMs (and Au). I also had sustained periods of acting as Metallurgical Production Engineer (MPE), during which I have had an opportunity to lead production teams, lead and promote safe production, engaged with the labor representatives to resolve disputes, plan manning and production targets, lead incident investigations, manage departmental budgets, etc. Highlights for the period as a process metallurgist for Au and Rh circuits; • Automated and optimized Au de-plating process (reduced the phase time by 50%) – eliminated manual dig-outs of Au from the reactor• Designed and commissioned the Vertical Upgrade of Rh side stream with >98% First Pass efficiency• Re-designed and commissioned Rh high-pressure dissolution process with >99% efficiency (improvement of >10%) – with significant process safety contributions
