My role in this capacity is to provide long-distance consulting and support through phone, email and teleconference for on-site staff. This is primarily on the subject of a ERP systems upgrade. My knowledge on Access Databases, Cognos BI, Inventory Control and also my purchasing relationships made while I was a buyer for the company are also of use.

As my responsibilities increased I was able to hire and train a team of individuals in both the IT and Purchasing roles within the company. My main goal was to oversee these functions for the company, although I was eager and happy to maintain a hands-on role where I could. As I took on higher-management functions, I worked directly with the senior management team to negotiate yearly pricing and purchase contracts. I became established in all levels of the business environment. Overseeing and liaising with plant employees in order to more efficiently help control costs. I participated in weekly business strategy meetings with the owners & senior management. And I was ultimately responsible for recommending and implementing new technology as well as planning the company’s technology roadmap.

I took over the role on the in-house I.T. manager while still assisting the company with purchasing tasks and training my replacement in Inventory Control. My main duties in this new role were to manage the ERP system (Frontier) and develop my skills as a product configuration expert within that framework. I supported 30+ end users in this role including a remote sales team. I also aggressively pushed adoption of our PC-based ordering software and began on-site training of customers in its use. I have knowledge and experience with IBM AS400/iSeries management, internal networks, Active Directory management, workstations tech support, end user & server OS's (Through Win7 & 2000-2008), Microsoft Office, Product planning and design, Acquisition of new hardware/software, Access DB Development, Cognos BI. This role also further developed my communication skills as I started to work more closely with management staff, and assist in product development meetings.

Hired into a purchasing position with dual inventory control responsibilities. As a buyer I was responsible for a turnover of between $2m-$4m of Vinyl, Wood, Screen and Aluminum raw materials for a top Window and Door manufacturer. Working closely with the companies ERP system, I had the ability to manage my own vendor contacts, design my own reporting tools and set my own safety stocks and ROP's for the perpetual inventory. Often, I was tasked to work closely with customer service and manufacturing to anticipate demands and respond quickly to stock outages. I also negotiated pricing and lead times with suppliers and placed orders appropriately. In my inventory control role I maintained an accurate perpetual inventory and helped to minimize raw material outages and monitored wasteful behavior. I developed my own reporting tools to make purchasing more efficient and worked with the management staff to make the necessary database changes during product changes or additions.
