I rejoined the seed funded Bonito designs, by Tomorrow Capital, the venture capital arm of Lodha group, as head of Customer Experience department.With the funding coming in, the number of projects tripled which required a dedicated team to understand and manage customer experience. In the first 2 months of starting with the role I realised the quality of outcome from each team throughout the project lifecycle is detrimental to the quality of homes we deliver and the quality of customer experience we wish to achieve. With that I took up the responsibility of setting up Quality Management System(QMS) for Bonito designs.Roles and responsibilities:- envision the customer experience we wish to deliver throughout the project lifecycle/customer engagement period, which is 90+ days through customer journey mapping, employee journey mapping.- identify key internal-customer deliverables and setup checkpoints. Checklists and SOPs for evaluation.- budgeting, recruitment and training of both Customer Experience team and the Quality management team.- setting up customer feedback mechanism, customer greivance and escalation process.- customer on-boarding and project handover ceremonies.- creating learning modules on the envisioned Customer Experience and QMS for different teams in the project lifecycle and conducting training sessions.- setting up continuous improvement system for all the internal customers, based on the Customer Experience and Quality outcome data.- digitisation of Customer Experience Management and Quality Management Systems.

Bonito designs was a bootstrapped interior designing company when I joined, with founder's vision to create a human centric- design centric organization.I joined Bonito designs, starting an R&D team working towards the set vision.Roles and responsibilities:- Conducted observational research through the 90+ days of active customer engagement period.- Idenfied key decision making interaction points and using design thinking principles created tools(questionere and thought frameworks) for the point of contacts(POCs) to exponentially increase success rate in each of these interaction points.- Achieved 100% outcome rate in the pilot projects done by the R&D team.- Conducted design thinking workshops and training sessions on the tools to all the POCs- CRMs, designers and project execution managers.- Digitisation of the tools for mistake proof execution of the project, from on-boarding customer to design to manufacturing to installation and site handover.- Other R&D projects included value engineering of existing furniture product offerings, standardization of modular furniture units, introduction of new hardwares solving customer pain points.

It was an early stage startup with only 2 lighting products, sourced from china when I joined.I joined as the first member of the design and engineering team.My role included:1. Reverse engineering the existing 2 products and source them locally.2. Setting up factory- the layout design, setting up the assembly line, identify and source equipment for the assembly, quality check and packaging operations. SOPs for factory activities.3. Product design activities- market research, products designed under DFMA principles, packaging design, costing, sourcing, assembly, quality check and service SOPs, value engineering.4. Products designed: - Box lights of sizes 1X2 ft, 2X2 ft and 2X4 ft - Downlighters of 3 different size and lumens outputs. - Pendant/barn light. - Patented modular aluminium channel light which could be configured to 27 different industry standard sizes.5. Learning and development activities: Created learning modules and conducted training of skilled and unskilled labours for assembly, quality check and packaging of products. 6. Auditee for ISO 9000 certification.
