This role entailed the project management of the Pacific Patrol Boat tender for the UGL/Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems Australia Joint Venture. This was a high pressure position that was focussed on the rapid development of both the JV as well as a compelling response relating to this billion dollar Australian Government tender.

Responsible for National Sales of UGL Freight Services. This role was concerned with developing the sales of all of UGL's rail freight services, including maintenance, asset management, equipment refurbishment & upgrade along with parts sales.

This role involved the sale of rolling stock (freight locomotives and wagons), along with the business development that underpinned the sales opportunities. Additionally, the role included the account management of all clients within the East region for ongoing support of their rolling stock requirements. This included support with parts and service agreements, along with train performance modelling in support of opportunities freight rail operators were pursuing.

Business Development Manager, South; for UGL Rail. This role involved working with Private and Government railroad owners and operations for the delivery of rolling stock and services. Key clients included Yarra Trams, Victorian DOT, VLine and MTM.

Project Manager of the M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier Upgrade Project for Tenix prior to the sale of the defence business to BAE. This appointment followed a difficult period the project had endured, and the initial focus involved the remediation of a number of structural problems that were hampering progress. This included a change in the structure of the team executing the project, along with an audit and re-baseline of the project schedule and budget. Two years later the project began delivering the capability required of the Contract.

The role at Holden was Engineering Program Manager for All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles, based on the Commodore architecture. At the time, Holden had no experience in designing or producing AWD vehicles, and this role involved the development of an engineering team to execute the design of the product, including sourcing of key overseas expertise to assist in the product specification. Ultimately the vehicle went into production as the Holden Adventra wagon and Cross 6 & 8 Utilities.

This role involved the introduction of Long Manufacturing products into the Australian OEM Automotive Market. Long was a Canadian heat exchanger company that was ultimately bought by Dana Corporation. The role entailed support to the Australian OEM manufacturers (Holden & Ford in particular) who used Long heat exchangers and other components on a number of vehicles they produced. Skills ranging from project management, engineering, sales, account management, quality management & supply chain were all employed in this one-man role.

This role involved the management of Holden's special projects (aka 'skunkworks'​). Holden was structured to deliver mainstream vehicle design programs, and did not want to involve the main engineering capability in 'distractions'​. Accordingly, skills from a career in race car development, combined with OEM processes to develop production vehicles were employed to develop Holden's niche products. The highlight during this role was the development of the Supercharged Ecotec V6 engine that went into production in the VS Commodore. This was the first supercharged engine GM Holden released for production. Another key project involved the development of LHD luxury Statesman and Caprice vehicles for export to the Middle East.

Greater Los Angeles Area

This role involved great variety in the support of US vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers related to the test and development of vehicles and systems. The company specialised in developing bespoke programs to address client needs. Projects ranging from cruise control performance to fuel and oil additives to emissions and durability testing and more were undertaken in this role. Technical knowledge, client interaction and innovation were key attributes in making this rewarding role work. A constant array of cutting-edge programs were undertaken at ATDS.

Greater Los Angeles Area

This position oversaw the development of a twin turbo system for the 1990+ Ford Mustang 5.0 litre. The role began in Melbourne Australia where the product was refined and made production-ready. This included the configuration of the engine management system to support up to 450HP while achieving emissions compliance to US Federal and California requirements. With kits in production the role transferred to Los Angeles, where the focus moved to product support to the dealer network as well as building and campaigning demonstrator vehicles for promotional purposes. The TIC twin turbo system went on to power Ford Mustangs to the fastest emissions legal quarter mile times as tested by Car Craft magazine for any production-derived car in 1992, with a 1/4 mile performance of 12.2 sec@122 mph. This was truly outstanding 'legal'​ performance for the era, and had not been seen since the unregulated musclecars of the 1960's.
