• Organized security team for rebuild of very large retail website. Established processes and procedures, integrated external consultants into the team and implemented agile project management over security team.• Developed software package for client that allowed client to manage its security framework of control objectives, controls, tests and evidence. Software was a low cost alternative to commercial software that required $500,000+ licensing and configuration costs.• Lead the evaluation of the performance problems of a high volume application that was experiencing a higher than acceptable rate of system issues. Assessment covered all levels of system from requirements through application code, data base design, DBMS configuration, server configuration and messaging configuration. Client implemented recommendations and there was a material reduction in system issues. • Defined and justified Chief Security Officer role for company. Was selected to fill role from pool of several applicants. In role, developed company security standards and responded to third party audits from customers.• Assisted several clients in evaluating Chief Security Officer candidates. Performed the technical evaluation of the candidates and prepared hire recommendations. * Assumed the role of CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER for an internet startup company. Responsibilities included developing product architecture, designing and implementing company infrastructure, setting up accounting and administrative systems, negotiating with vendors, and developing and giving technical presentations to prospective investors. * Designed the architecture for one of the first UNIX-based client/server business systems. Included implementation of an imaging system capable of scanning, saving and indexing 17 images per second, reducing the time needed to retrieve a document from 24 hours to 15 seconds. System also included a rules engine-based process allowing the company to audit the pricing of its products by third parties .
