Back in October 2011, I started working on oDesk.com doing accounting work for two clients in Canada, then I smoothly moved into technical writing a few months later. I logged over 200 hours in hourly jobs along with many more jobs on a fixed price basis there. Out of those many jobs, two of the stand out as my best assignments. One was a very intensive month of writing and editing construction education material for a client. I remote worked with a team of people through Skype to complete a huge project. The other best assignment was traveling to the 2013 CES for four days and visiting a long list of booths to capture pictures and interview the vendors for a multimedia company in Australia. The project focused on TVs, projectors, automotive GPS units, personal GPS tracking units, and automotive heads up display units.Currently, I am a freelance technical writer on Elance.com. I write about computer related and business topics. I have written a very wide variety of documents for clients. Here's a highlight list. I've done tips for iPhone, Android, Microsoft Office and Windows users. My best assignment I am very flexible in that I will write an article about any topic I know something about. For those few topics I don't, the Internet is a vast cache of knowledge waiting to be discovered and I have done that, to learn about a topic as I am writing a great paper for a client.Simultaneously, I maintain three WordPress sites. One is my own technology blog, and the other two are a wedding website for a service I do along with my friend, and my church's website. I do SEO and weekly site backups on the wedding and church sites. I take input from the leaders in my church and my partner in the wedding business to make content updates to these sites frequently.I am seeking opportunities to travel to consumer electronics trade shows and do technical writing for clients.
