During my time at Microsoft I have been a part of multiple teams but always focused on building AI/ML solutions/features and helping to improve our AI/ML services, both as a Software Engineer and a Data Scientist. I have worked with a variety of customers around the world helping them build or prototype novel enterprise AI/ML solutions and helped bring any learnings back to our product teams. As a manager my role has been to help provide technical expertise, career guidance and support. In my most recent role I work with our rotation program: Microsoft AI Development Acceleration Program (MAIDAP). I lead a team of engineers and mentor new Software Engineers, Data Scientists and PMs. The MAIDAP team in partnership with other organizations within Microsoft develop new AI/ML based features, products, and internal monitoring/support tools. We work with teams across Microsoft from Azure services to Office and down to the infrastructure layer to help improve customer experience and the quality of our services. Inn my various roles I have had the opportunity to work on large scale solutions using a variety of cloud services, develop mobile applications (iOS) and work with many different ML frameworks/tools. A couple of the more interesting areas of my personal focus have been around production-oriented solutions leveraging DevOps patterns for AI/ML and working within Microsoft's framework for Responsible AI. At Nokia I had the opportunity to work with Data Scientists to analyze large amounts of cellular application and map data to better understand user behavior. This analysis was used to influence the development of HERE Maps features and improve the design of mobile applications. I used a variety of technologies including internal Hadoop clusters, AWS, R, Tableau, HERE Maps, Tableau and D3.js to accomplish my work.

Most of the projects involved working with a variety of technologies including: variety of web and application servers, load balancers, Oracle and MySQL, JSP, Java and Perl.

I assisted in the creation of a FileMaker Pro based Laboratory Information System (LIMS) and worked on the release of 4 different software products using the C++ language on both the Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows platforms. I was also involved in training the technical support and sales department in the use of the software and assisted the technical support team in the installation and support of the software at customer sites. In addition I was able to help the MIS department with Mac related support issues and the development of an Intranet for the R&D group to keep track of research data.

I worked with a variety of clients in the development of large-scale client/server implementations. This includes gathering requirements, producing designs and implementing the projects. In addition I was responsible for overseeing Analysts and new consultants in their tasks. Most of the projects involved C/C++ code interacting with either Sybase or Oracle databases and creating servers that could act as intermediaries for applications that needed to get data from a variety of databases. My clients included Allstate and Amoco (now BP).
