I thoroughly researched the product architecture, prepared a suite of architectural diagrams, and kept it up-to-date.I described the existing data model and made optimization proposals that were implemented by the development team.I documented change requests and solutions. In this role I was primarly focused on people management.I reduced the team head count, keeping development velocity.I arranged eductional courses to close gaps in developers knowledge and skills.I introduced LEAN Management practices in the company.

Working at ground zero, I've created a data model, agile enough to meet business requirements during two years without significant redesign.Then I ramped up the team keeping Scrum as a project management framework.Due to my business-oriented approach to the tech leadership there were no techreasoned delivery impediments.The spirit of startup was requiring to be responsive to various challenges: from coding to negotiations. I developed the DB schema and wrote PL/pgSQL code.I prepared requirements for new features and managed the team of up to 6 developers.

As the head of the department, I was focused on management tasks:* hire and educate DB developers* prioritize, break down, and assign tasks* analyze and evaluate new features from the DB perspectiveI was a person who drove the replacement of the Waterfall approach with Scrum. As a result, time-to-market for new features has been halved. I also took the role of Scrum master.After I've increased the number of developers in the team, I've introduced VCS in the company to improve collaborative development.Experiencing a lack of business analysis, I have introduced regular sync-up sessions with business stakeholders, extending the Scrum framework. It allowed me and the team to meet the business expectations in the majority of cases.

I started working here as a senior software developer.I learned the DB schema contained about 50 tables, up to 100 views, jobs, and triggers, and thousands of lines of PL/SQL code.As a part of the DB team, I developed business logic using PL/SQL, supported and refined existing code base.I investigated DB-related incidents and tuned DB performance using indexing, materialized views, and denormalization.I ran an internship and have nurtured two PL/SQL specialists for the company.
