Mechanical Equipment Engineer I
Current•Working in the Nuclear Services & Technology Unit, supporting the design & manufacturing of radiation shielding gloveboxes (GBs) under AGS & ASTM standards.•Responsible engineer for design, function, & manufacturability of various full GB assemblies & common design elements. Working with multiple disciplines (fire protection, HVAC, electrical, process, structural, I&C) to oversee integration of individual discipline designs into overall GB assemblies.•Designing GB shells, frames, & internal machinery/components for GB function in Creo. Ensuring GB interfaces properly with facilities through Navisworks.•Writing procurement & testing specifications, internal guides, & performing calculations & FEA simulations for responsible deliverables and processes. •Conducting engineering checks on drawings through reviews & marking edits for accuracy, clarity, & adherence to standards. Interfacing with clients to receive feedback & incorporate into designs. Communicating with vendors to collect information & verify design feasibility.•Mentoring Interns by providing them work & guiding them as necessary to build their engineering knowledge & skills
