I apply my medical equipment background to everything related to surgical microscopes - installations, maintenance, and repairs, with an emphasis on helping customers to use and take care of their microscopes well.

Performed various operational tasks as part of an empowered team. Included Clean Room Management/Materials: Performed set-up & breakdown of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) space/equipment, and accurately & efficiently moved process materials in accordance with procedure. Worked in compliance with procedures, documents, government regulations, safety programs (appropriate SOP's). Followed lean manufacturing principles & current manufacturing practices (cGMPs). Managed inventory & tasks for aseptic growth, as well as equipment preparation & movement. Provided Operations Support: operated/monitored equipment & expiry of sterile equipment. Provided materials & equipment support & maintenance, as well as systems knowledge (SAP, MES, Kanban, PLC), and sample delivery. Performed labeling & inventory management of clean/sterile equipment and transfer of samples. Taught Chemistry and Physics to small classes of students with language-based learning disabilities. The tasks for teaching included developing lessons appropriate for the the students' reading, writing, and study skill level; implementing pertinent remedial structures and setting; designing and using appropriate assessment methods; and daily managing the classroom or laboratory activities. Also tutored students in a one-on-one setting in the same areas of reading, writing, and study skills, according to a predetermined skill-level diagnostic.

Worked with administrators, clinicians, and technicians in a clinical setting in order to be thoroughly indoctrinated into hospital operation and procedures. Gained in-depth exposure to all clinical engineering department activities. Project work in this setting included coordinating a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with a task-force of clinical personnel as well as coordinating technical aspects of a project combining a corrective action, system upgrade and annual preventive maintenance of the hospital’s infusion pump system.

Upgraded and automated an electro-spinning system for BioSurfaces, Inc., a Biomedical Engineering company that develops innovative biomedical devices using cutting-edge biomaterial technologies.

Assisted various Product Development Engineers in design, development, documentation, testing and validation of medical devices in accordance to the Corporate Standards Product Development Process. Conducted performance testing for product design verification and also characterized and assessed performance of competitive products. Drafted protocols for experimental studies.
