Gladys Li is a certified sustainable supply chain professional with four years of experience in managing sustainability projects. Currently, she works as the Sustainability Supervisor at Polar Air Cargo. She leads global cross-functional sustainability projects and campaigns that have reduced Polar Air Cargo's carbon footprint, enhanced employee well-being programs, and strengthened community partnerships. She identifies potential solutions for mitigating the environmental impact of corporate activities and raising awareness of environmental stewardship through delivering education and training programs to peers. She spearheads initiatives to reduce Polar's Scope 2 emissions by enhancing business energy efficiency and implementing innovative approaches to water and waste management. She has managed the project, Green Performance Pledge by Swire Properties since 2021. In 2023/2024, Polar Air Cargo was ranked Gold rating for Operational Environmental Performance, Top Performer in Energy Efficiency and Most Improved in Energy Efficiency Performance. With all participating companies, the collective reduction in Energy Use Intensity (EUI) is 3.8%. Saved nearly 750,000 kWh over one year. The collective decrease in waste generation is 41 tonnes.Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an understanding of global sustainability frameworks, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This knowledge enables her to craft tailored ESG strategies that align with international best practices and enhance Polar’s environmental, social, and governance performance. Gladys also has eight years of experience in event and project management supported international brands such as ANZ, Westpac, S&P Dow Jones, HSBC etc when she worked at Haymarket Media as a content manager for AsianInvestor, FinanceAsia, and CorporateTreasurer. She planned and executed large-scale finance conferences, industry awards, and online publications. She covered areas of sustainable finance, green bonds, and ESG investing. Outside of work, She is a dancer with ten years of experience in Hip Hop and Contemporary Jazz. She is a scuba diver and has supported underwater cleanup in Hong Kong since 2019.
