Directs two Medical Assessment Centers (MACs), one located in Queens Village, NY and the other in Staten Island, NY.Oversees the operations of clinical and operational tasks, while ensuring compliance with internal MTA-NYC Transit corporate policies and regulations.Responsible for maintaining more than 30,000 employee medical charts, and for reporting medical assessment activities to both internal and external stakeholders.Responsible for working with field management to expedite employee medical assessments in order to maximize employee availability while providing a safe environment for both customers and staff.Ensures all regulatory requirements, federal, state, and local, are adhered too.Provides administrative oversight for all assigned staff, physicians, nursing and administration. Coordinates MAC activities with Senior Management, Deputy Medical Directors and other assigned medical professionals. Manages import and export of medical information while ensuring regulatory storage and confidentiality.

Informed the Battalion Commander and the Deputy Commanding General of the Division on all command and public information affecting the unit, the Army, and the American public. Communicated regularly with local, state and federal officials, elected leaders, organizations and other military units in a direct effort to build relationships and improve community interaction as directed by the Department of Defense policies and regulations. Held approval authority for all public affairs products released from the unit. Advised supporting units on accuracy, propriety, timing and relative importance of information for release to the public. Prepared and supervised preparation of information on Army matters for release through news releases, articles, photographs, radio, and television programs. Maintained strict accountability of personnel and equipment for Department of Defense accounting purposes. Planned and executed highly productive Battle Assemblies.Oversaw collective training for the unit to meet it Mission Essential Tasks. Provided input and recommendations on regulations and policies that affected service members, their families, and their communities.

Oversaw the responsibilities and members of the soldier and family multidisciplinary team, assisting injured service members to either, heal and return to duty or transition to civilian life. Collaborated with the care team with the goal of creating a functional, individualized comprehensive plan of care for all service members requiring care.Interacted closely with Department of Defense personnel, elected and local officials from the wounded service member’s jurisdiction or home of record, to ensure the safe movement of members and family when required.Provided direct and indirect culturally congruent care to wounded service members, retirees, dependents, and their families. Assisted in the coordination of resources that supported their physical, emotional and spiritual healing which promoted their timely return to the force or transition to productive civilian life.

Oversaw the administration of professional nursing care to both employees and pre-employment candidates.Delegated work assignments for all personnel assigned to the Medical Assessment Center.Maintained inventory of medical equipment and supplies. Assisted Deputy Medical Directors, physicians, nurses, administrative managers, and clerical staff in the overall operation of the Medical Center. Oversaw the administration of the Employee Random and Recheck Drug Testing Programs. Performed the duties of the Director of Medical Records in his absence.Co-authored the first Random and Recheck Policy Instruction Book, part of which is still in use. Introduced procedural changes and then followed through with the implementation of the approved changes. Exercised independent judgment in everyday operations to ensure that the highest levels of standards for drug reporting were achieved. Interacted on a regular basis with MetPath Officials, a major drug-testing contractor, labor relations representatives, and union officials.
