As a Principal Consultant, I assist customers in the adoption and implementation of DevOps practices and workflows. Projects range from Puppet migrations and module work, cloud migration projects into the Google Cloud Platform, building custom integrations with internal tooling (CI/CD, Observation, Canary Analysis, etc..) and anything in-between. During this time I’ve participated on consulting engagements with customers like Google, Marketo, Credit Karma, McKesson, Box, HashiCorp, and Twitter.Some examples of projects from this time period:* Developed a data visualization solution, which integrates with GCS, BigQuery, and Google Data Studio, to visualize resource changes across hundreds of thousands of managed production nodes in order to answer the question of whether a code change performed as expected.* Developed a Python service that surfaces the impact of landing a code change on hundreds of thousands of managed production nodes.* Developed Python tooling executed within a CI pipeline that performs linting, syntax validation, and unit testing on code change requests in order to reduce code review churn due to preventable issues.* Developed and supported Terraform modules to reduce customer friction in adopting Google Cloud managed services.* Developed the lab-based scenario code for the HashiCorp Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional certification exam (AWS variant)* Deployed and supported AWS EKS clusters that used OIDC and IRSA for the purpose of having private GitHub Action runners with passwordless authentication

At Puppet I've served in both a Pre-sales and post-sales capacity. As a pre-sales "Sales Engineer" I did everything from demonstrations, meeting with customers, setup proof-of-concept infrastructure, and did everything necessary to assist the customer from a technical pre-sales perspective.Some of the customers I worked with during this time were: Nike, Starbucks, Apple, Costco, Shutterstock, American Airlines, State Farm, Exxon, and others.The majority of my time (5.5 years), however, was spent as a Professional Services Engineer (PSE) doing everything from performing trainings, assisting customers in setting up Puppet infrastructure, developing code deployment workflows, speaking at everything from meetups to our yearly Puppetconf events, and ensuring that our customers were successful with their Puppet deployments. I enjoy working directly with customers to develop workflows and processes that will support their business at hand! As a PSE, I conduct trainings, code audits, on-site work, present at conferences, and support the Puppet community both in-person as well as through all our online channels (IRC, email lists, etc...). I'm also tasked with providing presales support, performing demos/webinars, and performing sales engineer tasks when needed.

Manage OS X Server Open Directory infrastructure with 500 client machines. We use Puppet and MCX to maintain client states across 5 school buildings. We're about 95% Macs with the rest being Linux and Windows machines.

My Sports Photography business. I specialize in Photography for High School and College Soccer and Football events, but have covered every High School Event for which Huron City Schools has a team. I shoot with Canon Equipment and use the 1D Mark IV, 300mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, 24-70mm f/2.8, and 80mm f/1.8.
