As Duty Manager Operations I'm 24/7 responsible for the supervision on a safe and integrated operation of the airline. I'm managing a team of Operation Controllers, Crew Assigners and Dispatchers at our Operations Control Centre which fulfils a central and leading role in the organisation, especially in case of disturbances like emergency response, delays, sales requests, crewrescheduling, strikes, disruptions due weather, technical issues, political situations etc. . I'm authorized to take decisions, even cross departmental, in situations where the company's interest has to be considered integrally.

As Duty Maintenance Manager I controlled 24/7 and worldwide, the primary Maintenance & Engineering processes on an operational level to ensure maximum fleet availability both in quality and correct configuration for all Martinair and KLM Cityhopper aircraft. This through optimal use of maintenance capacity and downtime (taking in account; costs, personnel, space, materials, tools and equipment). I Managed the staff at the Maintenance Control Centre (Technical Specialist, Planner/Scheduler, Parts AOG desk) and supported the Management Team by reporting and tactical analyzing, in order to continuously improve the operational performance of the Technical Department.

As Project Supervisor I coordinated and supervised Martinair's Line-, and Base Maintenance including the supporting shops (engine-, sheetmetal-, paint-, interiors-shops). I was responsible for the on-time redelivery of aircraft maintenance projects by managing an assigned group of inspectors, ground engineers and mechanics (groupsize 35-40) and acted as Deputy Team Manager. In 2002 I was selected by the Management Team, to participate in the project to reorganize our Technical Department. Together with an external consultancy, the Maintenance Control Centre was introduced of which the implementation took place in December 2002.I also acted several times as Technical Representative during heavy maintenance visits of Martinair aircraft at external MRO's like Swissair in Zurich and FLS in Dublin.

As Inspector I randomly checked the work performed by Ground Engineers and Mechanics and assist this group with substantive technical and procedural advises. I Managed small inspections and acted as Deputy Project Leader. Also I managed outsourced maintenance and gave advise to personnel of third parties on outstations

As Jar 66 Licensed engineer on MD11/F50/C650 I was responseable for aircraft scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance while leading a team of engineers/mechanics.The company selected me 3 times to be stationed for 7months in Long Beach CA to supervise/support McDonnel Douglas during the manufacturing of the MD11 airplanes ordered by Martinair. In addition I have extensive outstation line maintenance experience because I was stationed for periods of 6wks in Quito, Bogota, Mexico-city, Abu Dhabi and made shorter trips to several other destinations in Europe, Middle & Far East, Africa, Australia, North & South America.
