Hello, I am a student and a dancer born in Brazil and currently living in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC. After going to Massage Therapy school, I fell in love with holistic practices and eventually decided to continue my education and get a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion. This has been the best decision I could have made because it lead me to Asheville and this wonderfully supportive community. I am passionate about helping people of all walks of life to have access to healthy local food options because I believe that if we eat more local organic foods, then we will create a more holistic and sustainable society. As a student I started out as a service learning partner with the YMCA's Nutrition Department working on a project to help grow their Winter Farmers Market. That opportunity lead me to become the intern market assistant, and the following year I became Market Manager as a seasonal employee for the YMCA. This experience has taught me a lot about working with the local community, as well as planning and managing events, working with individuals of different backgrounds, and being flexible in a changing work environment. I am grateful for this opportunity, and looking forward to continuing to work to bring fresh local foods to the Asheville community. As I get close to my graduation in May of this year, I am seeking more opportunities to grow in this field by supporting my local community, and being an advocate for positive change in Asheville and beyond.
