In this role, I build relationships with donors and prospects in order to raise funds for battlefield preservation and education at Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War Battlefields across the United States. The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters.

This position, which reported to the Vice President of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, and served in his senior leadership circle, oversaw Administrative Services, Annual Giving, Budget Management, Facilities, Gift Receiving, Human Resources, and Information Services for the University of Kentucky Office of Philanthropy. I managed a professional staff of five direct reports, thirty-one indirect reports, more than 60 student employees, and had direct management responsibilities for a budget of $18.7 million. Philanthropy at UK raised $150M in gift receipts and $204M in new commitments in FY22.

Directed and monitored University-wide identification, cultivation, and solicitation of alumni, students, parents, faculty/staff, and friends with the capacity of making a gift or pledge of less than $25,000.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Advancement, this senior-level leadership position oversaw all advancement programs and operations for the division, including the Alumni Association, Annual Giving, Data Management, Scholarship Management, and Stewardship. I had direct supervisory responsibilities over a professional staff of 3, plus 3 indirect reports. I served as budget manager for four units in the division, facilitating a total budget of more than $1 million. The advancement division raised more than $10 million in annual, major, and planned giving, plus grants and contracts.Sinclair Foundation activity accounts for more than $1 million in gift receipts and $1.3 million in commitments annually.

This senior-level unit major gift fundraising position was part of a team of six responsible for raising $200 million during the seven and one half year fundraising initiative entitled For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students. This position held greater expectations with regard to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of higher-level prospects in the College.

This mid-level major gift fundraising position required active engagement in all aspects of the development process, including the identification, assessment, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni and friends of the College of Engineering. Working closely with the Department Heads of Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, I managed fundraising operations for these departments, raising nearly $1 million in outright and deferred gift support.

In this role, I actively engaged in all aspects of the development process, including the identification, assessment, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni and friends of the College.

In this role, I coordinated the annual direct mail campaign for the entire University, which included developing targeted marketing and communications messages and cases for support, and determining appropriate timing and frequency for both mail and phone solicitations. The collection, analysis, and interpretation of data representing donor giving trends and solicitation results was managed in order to plan future solicitation strategies.

In this role, I developed, planned, and implemented various young alumni programs within Annual Giving, including targeted young alumni direct mail and telemarketing solicitations and non-solicitation communications. I also served as advisor to the Senior Class Gift Campaign, providing fundraising, communications, and marketing support and acting as the liaison between the Senior Class Gift Committee, Annual Giving, and the University.
