I have been the main internal communications professional for a $10 billion financial services company for the past 17 years. I have a track record of proven results in initiating and implementing strategic communications that engage employees at all levels to support the organization’s vision and priorities. Using corporate communication best practices and personal initiative, I help drive organizational change and provide operational initiative support and alignment through the internal communications function. As the corporate communications manager, I am responsible for all stages of internal communications including planning, initiating, and implementing a cohesive communications program to build employee understanding of organizational goals and priorities. I research, develop, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications vehicles including e-mail, internal newsletters, employee forums, Intranet, and corporate reports. Consistent with the internal communications plan, I am responsible for developing and managing intranet content to support operational processes and deliver on organizational communication goals. This includes the governance of the bank’s document management system and audit process. I provide strategic counsel to business partners, up to senior management, regarding the information that should be presented to employees, including the format, method and channel of message delivery and production schedules and timing of key communications. This includes change management communications, system upgrades and platform changes, product and service rollouts and all other operational and functional communications. I effectively utilize project management processes, techniques and tools to ensure that communications plans, delivery and timelines are achieved and proactively communicate project status to affected stakeholders throughout the process.
