Part-time contract to develop the initial frontend, backend APIs and infrastructure, as well as advise on best practices, security, and quality.

Full-time internship with cloud integrations team, developing a new way to integrate TeamCity with Amazon ECS. This involved developing a new plugin, as well as modifying some existing plugins and the core to fix bugs that were revealed during development. Though this work was quite independent, I still got many opportunities to discuss design decisions with the team, which often had no clear ‘optimal’ solution.

10 week internship at Eviden working in a full-stack (primarily backend) team that develops a data storage, sharing and analysis platform. I worked with the team on normalising the backend while adding new functionality using the new architecture, and also on fixing bugs and improving performance in the GraphQL API.More specific examples of my work in this team are:- Contributions to the initial setup of a file processing pipeline - including design of the GraphQL API schema and implementation of relevant endpoints for the UI to use.- Bug fixes across the board in the product itself and in automated testing services & developer tooling.- Performance improvements (mainly improving / cleaning up SQL queries).- Migration of part of the database from Firestore to Postgres. Included a data invalidation and manipulation layer, since the old data was corrupted.The internship also included 2 weeks in another full-stack team that develops an internal HR platform for Eviden, during which I paired on some of the frontend work and cleaned-up some of the CI/CD and (Kubernetes) infrastructure.

8 week full stack engineering summer internship at Atos working in 4 different teams with a variety of backend and frontend technologies as well as non-programming work, such as testing, documentation and research.This was my first introduction to professional programming and help me improve on my existing Golang, SQL, GraphQL, git and other skills as well as learn new technologies and practices such as Terraform and CI/CD.During the internship I made several contributions to project codebases, mainly focusing on additions to prepare for new features, bug fixes, unit testing and documentation. I also worked with one of the teams to test their project as someone unfamiliar with it to improve the general look & feel, fix information errors and greatly improve consistency.
