I lead a physically active social life and attend a local gymnasium on a regular basis. I am a former, 2nd dan Kyokushin Karate Instructor and have represented Scotland in national events. I taught Karate/Kickboxing/Self Defence classes to adults and juniors in the community for a number ofyears. I also held classes for patients at Murray Royal HospitalI am a member of a local theatre company and have appeared regularly in plays, musicals and pantomimes.I was actively involved with a company that taught drama/music/media to patients at Murray Royal Hospital, culminating in a live performance and installation at the Scottish Parliament and other venues. In 2016, I performed in a play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.I recently returned to University for my BA Theatre Industry Practice and hope to utilise my acting skills, academic skills and experience in Mental health, to secure a community job (creative arts) back in the mental health sector. I worked in Mental Health for a number of years. I initially started as a Community Support Worker in Perth City CMHT, was then seconded to Crieff CMHT and, for 7 years, worked as a Forensic Mental Health Assistant at Murray Royal Hospital, Perth. I have experience of working with Service Users with a wide range of Mental Health Issues and experiences. I have also worked with Service Users with Autism, Asperger’s and Drug/Alcohol dependency issues. Having worked as a Health and Safety Assistant/Fire Risk Assessor for approximately 18 months, I have a good knowledge of how to compile Risk Assessments and carry out Health and Safety Inspections. I recognise the importance of identifying risks/hazards before accidents occur and recording all relevant information. I am an honest and trustworthy individual with an exuberant personality. I have a good work ethic, which has been highlighted many times during my career. I am a good Team Player, but am happy/confident to work on my own. I would be quite happy to undertake any training that would be required. I believe in honesty, transparency and treating all people with respect & dignity.
