I am very pleased to have the opportunity to manage my team in the Data Centre (now Centralized Services). Leading a team of innovative thinkers to maximize the potential of our integrated environment, both with on prem storage, backup and virtualization, and cloud based tools. We are working to simplify the complexities of our data environment, while at the same time providing more accurate and timely information about the state of the infrastructure to help drive business decisions.I am responsible for leading a team that supports storage (Nimble), backup (Veeam), virtualization (VMWare), messaging (Exchange and Office 365), telephony (Skype for Business and Cisco), and cloud environments (Azure and Office 365).

I am a working supervisor with a team of 15 staff members, including field technicians, specialized techs, and help desk technicians. My team supports 65 geographically diverse sites within an extended metropolitan area. I am responsible for the day to day operations of the IT department. These operations include supervising technicians, managing ticket flow and assignments, RMA fulfillment, and a large scale deployment and recycling program. I provide priority support for the senior District Leadership team and other key functionaries at the Board Office.I continue to be the senior escalation point for CommVault backup issues, VMWare issues, and storage troubleshooting.I am Dell TechDirect certified on Notebooks, Desktops, and Servers. I am also SCSP (SNIA Certified Storage Professional), VCP (VMware Certified Professional), CommVault Administrator and Engineer certified. I also hold the Occupational First Aid Level II designation.

Since starting this position, I have been certified as a VMware Certified Professional (VCP), SNIA Certified Storage Professional (SCSP), and as a CommVault Administrator and Engineer.Currently I am responsible for the Data Centre of the Coquitlam School District, which serves over thirty thousand staff and student users. I design, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot all hardware pertaining to the Data Centre environment.Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a hybrid tape/deduped disk backup system (based on CommVault's Simpana 9 software). Manage discrete fibre channel and iSCSI SAN environments. Lead the project to migrate to a new fibre channel SAN with minimal downtime.Designed and deployed a VMWare virtualized data centre environment, utilizing VMware's high availability technologies to minimize down time, to replace our former infrastructure with a more robust and flexible one.

Working in a school of 2000 users, supporting 350 computers on a daily basis, as well as 5 servers. Responsible for regular backups of the servers. Specialized in using Symantec's Ghost product to push images and applications to workstations through out the building. Managed the local network, moved the network to a system of VLans to protect key administrative networks from general traffic.Also - managed 30 Macintosh computers, including integration into the Active Directory environment, management with OSX Server, and imaging.
