Close protection/ PSD TLSupervision of a six-man PSD team of local nationals in Iraq providing armed escort to the gas and oil executives, employees and sub-contractors. This includes maintaining client security, comfort and safety in and around the oilfield on both night and day shifts and across country to Baghdad airport for repatriation and leave. Responsible for all team vehicles, equipment and weapons ensuring they are always kept in a serviceable condition. Scheduling, supervising and updating records of all team training ensuring operational effectiveness and reducing the risk of skill fade

Employed by a local security company who specialise in security for Film and TV productions in various locations all over Scotland. Responsible for the supervision and deployment of all security guards to aid in the protection of all assets including vehicles, production equipment and personnel both in public and remote areas. Carrying out patrols of all sites and restricting the access and egress of all personnel, vehicles and equipment. Also utilised as a 4x4 driver to move camera equipment and personnel to off road or hard to reach areas.

Employed as a head door supervisor at various licensed entertainment venues throughout Scotland restricting access to banned persons, substances or items. Carrying out patrols both internally and externally to aid with asset protection and restraining and ejecting anyone found to be disobeying the rules or under the influence of alcohol from the premises

Responsible for the command and control of a 4 man armed maritime security team of various nationalities through the use of clear and concise communications. Carrying out a vessel security assessment and implementing various security and defence measures to harden the vessel against attack. Planning and conducting briefings and presentations to teach all ships officers and crew what drills and duties are to be carried out in the event of an attack. Using early detection methods and equipment such as binoculars, radar, AIS and monitoring radio and latest intelligence reports to minimize coming into contact with pirates. Producing and sending daily/ weekly reports using the maritime picture and latest intelligence to spot trends and patterns in suspicious/ piracy activity. Conducting regular training and testing of all security team members to maintain high standards in all drills such as weapons safety, physical training, RUF/ROE and SOP’s.

Supervising a security team during the London 2012 Olympics and beyond helping to secure various venues across London, West of Scotland and Hampden Park in Glasgow by carrying out foot and mobile patrols of the venues and surrounding areas, other duties included manually searching personnel and vehicles or using an X-ray machine and metal detectors to search luggage and bulk items.

General soldiering and security duties such as static guarding and mobile security patrols of barracks and surrounding urban areas, responding to alarms and using C.C.T.V systems both in the U.K and on operations overseas. Trained in a variety of roles within the Royal Artillery such as basic signals which includes being able to send and receive secure communications by V.H.F radios, employed in the motor transport section and trained as an advanced driver and taught how to drive many types of vehicles both on and off-road and also the basic maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles including changing all lubricants and filters for their annual inspections. Promoted on a meritocratic basis to Lance Bombardier and transferred to the Quartermasters maintenance department as a store man where duties included the issuing and receiving of various stores equipment including rations, weapons and ammunition. Guard commander duties also carried out including planning and supervising patrols and overseeing the safe loading and unloading of weapons. Also completed operations in the Balkans which ultimately ended the siege of Sarajevo and an operational tour of Cyprus with the United Nations protection force dealing with confrontation in a calm but robust manner. Creating and maintaining good working relationships with the local populace. Learned many new skills and good practices whilst on training exercises in America, Canada and Germany. Served as part of the regimental recruiting teams representing the regiment at various functions and working closely with the general public.
