Served as chairman of Hybrid Vehcile Electrical Power Distribution committee for SAE Truck & Bus. Daily activities included: Investigating new technologies, developing long range road maps, utilizing Six Sigma Tools to justify decisions, coordinating business plan information with multiple divisions and departments, coordinating vehicle systems integration with multiple suppliers, estimating engineering hours, projecting capitol and expense costs, developing product validation plan, creating project timelines, and directing other engineers to meet project goals.

Lead engineer for a multiplexed instrumentation system for various truck models. Coordinated system development with the supplier. Designed truck wiring harnesses. Led instrumentation integration into vehicle. Designed ABS installations on various models. Developed wire harness specifications.

Projects included: Wire harness design and vehicle interface for electronically controlled diesel engines, wire harness design and system logic for R134a HVAC system, integrated a fully multiplexed instrumentation system into Peterbilt’s model 320.

Design experience included: engine cooling, air conditioning, component specifications, and air/electrical system design. Projects ranged from new engine cooling package design and air suspension installations to a complete dash/electrical system redesign. Daily activities included handling field service calls, interfacing with manufacturing/production, and participating in cost reduction/product improvement programs.
