Undertaking a newly established position within the New Zealand Defence Force that will help shape the future way that the NZDF conducts it's activities across the Information Domain.
The role is to bring into service the Penguin Missile for the SH-2G(I) Super SeaSprite as well as ensuring all the necessary mission support systems are in place for the SH-2G(I).
In this role I was responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness of the Maritime Patrol element of the RNZAF's flying capability. This role had elements of Project management. Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance and Health and Safety. This role is also responsible for the on going development of capability and monitoring of the training for the Maritime Force Element as well as providing specialist advice to all staff within the Headquarters. A secondary role for me was the Unit Security Officer, providing subject matter expertise on all NZDF security requirements to the Headquarters.Areas covered in this role include:• Provision of specialist role advice• Project Management• Reporting• Training management• Risk management• Manage Force Element adherence to regulations• Auditing RNZAF Force Elements
Provided commanders with specialist advice on maintaining and sustaining integrated sensor and Data Management systems. Conducted critical analysis of future requirements, defined procurement requirements and worked with contractor personnel to implement, test and role out upgrades and modifications to the fleet. • Led critical review of sensor capability encompassing all facets from operational employment to sustainment, customer requirements and doctrine, resulting in presentation of findings to the senior Air Force leadership. Enhanced organizational comprehension of the sensor and software, presented current and future implications of retaining the capability, creating momentum for change, including removing wasteful processes and consideration of alternatives. • Compiled mid-term and annual performance reviews for all junior personnel. Undertook individual discussion and debrief and provided guidance on actions to improve and fulfil their own career goals. • Managed professional development, course and deployment scheduling of junior personnel to maximise their ability to satisfy all goals outlined at the commencement of the performance review period. • Required to manage personnel to ensure all flying and ground tasks could be accomplished as and when required by command. This included creating leave plans with personnel, maintaining manning plots, and reacting to sudden changes in operational circumstances. • Continued to manage the amendment and publication of technical and operations manuals and references for Operator and Maintenance use. Drafted proposals for incorporation into publications, increased the accessibility and relevancy of published material by 15%.

• Responsible for the development, maintenance and on going delivery of training to personnel undertaking initial Air Warfare Specialist trade training. This included: - Theory lessons, - Ground based practical training and assessment. - Airborne practical training and assessment in the HS748 aircraft. - Compiling detailed operator evaluation reports for performance records, • Charged with liaising with Royal Australian Air Force units to achieve our training objectives.
