Glen Power is the Chief Executive Officer and a board director of the Lions Eye Institute in Perth. He has for the past 25 years held senior roles within the Australian health industry including as CEO/GM of six hospitals in four different States. Glen also served as Chief of Staff and Principal Policy Adviser to the Minister for Health in Western Australia. He is a Rhodes Scholar (Western Australia, 1992) and studied science, law and politics at Oxford, Murdoch, UWA and Melbourne universities. While at Oxford, he was elected president of the Magdalen College Middle Common Room. After his doctorate at Oxford, Glen was an associate at McKinsey & Co, completing the firm's Mini-MBA. Alongside his career, Glen has also served voluntarily as a director on the boards of the National Stroke Foundation, National Stroke Research Institute, Affinity Health Foundation (Company Secretary), West Coast Institute of Training, Deakin University Western Alliance, Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation, the Swan Chamber of Commerce and the Rhodes Scholarships in Australia Pty Ltd. He was also for three years president of the Western Australian branch of the Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) and a Federal Councillor to that national industry group. He has published extensively on fish metabolism and fish oils in various scientific and biomedical journals, and has recently completed a new book entitled 'Trout in Western Australia'.
