Futura Trailers (previously known as Renegade Trailers) is the home of the low loader trailer. The design point of difference for all our trailers is the lifting and lowering technology that allows vehicles to drive on and off quickly and easily, with the trailer deck at an angle of three degrees. Operated by remote control, the deck lifts and lowers in less than a minute. This design is particularly popular with the owners of low slung, performance, classic and race cars because it cuts down the risk of damage during loading and unloading. Our trailers are light-weight, strong, highly maneuverable and elegantly streamlined. The tow industry also loves Futura trailers because the design enables a rapid pick up of broken down and damaged vehicles. This helps tow truck operators to get themselves and their customers out of dangerous situations fast. Our range of trailers can transport any vehicle, from high performance race cars to motorbikes, side by sides and classic cars. Futura trailers are currently sold in New Zealand and exported to Australia, the USA and Canada.

Mobistore is a mobile storage service that was built around our innovative fork lift trailer. The patented forklift trailer enabled the easy pick-up and transportation of specially-designed storage units: from the customer’s door to a secure warehouse. We designed the trailer prototype, set-up and operated this business for 4 years alongside Renegade Trailers before selling the business to focus fully on the trailer market.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

I spent 11 years in the building industry in Dubai, introducing new precast concrete solutions initially based on the tilt-up construction method and later focused on Bulk precast concrete and ready-mix supply for infrastructure projects such as Dubai Palm Islands. At its height, Icon Precast employed 700 people and operated three concrete plants, producing 45,000m³ of precast concrete and ready-mix per month. Icon delivered public and private contracts worth between 1million and half a billion dollars. Further business development was abruptly halted by the Dubai Debt Crisis in 2009 when many foreign contractors were compelled to write off monies owing to them and leave the country.
