I love being a teacher. I will always want to be connected to education, whether inside or outside the classroom. As my students have developed award winning research projects I have been inspired to return to my first ambition of working with elementary particle physics. I have training and experience in teaching science to second language learners. I have had training and experience in various laboratory equipment and procedures including Vernier LabPro. I have acted as the unofficial science department chair for 5 years working on curriculum review, budgeting, and science fair/science olympiad. As our school's departments have grown and developed, I have been named as the official Head of Department for science for the end of the 2011-2012 school year and for the 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016 school years. I have been assistant director for 3 school plays, lead director in 9 plays, and producer for 4 plays. As a science fair coach I have had students qualify as finalists at Intel's International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 7 years in a row and students win a Grand Prize wards at ISEF five of those years. I had students win a first place team award in 2009, a second place team award in 2010, an individual win Best in Category as well as a trip to the European Union Contest for Young Scientists in 2011, a team win a 3rd place award for 2012, an individual win a 4th place award and a team win a 3rd place award in 2013, and a student win a special Award from the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence in 2015. For 2012-2016 I was also the fair director for the ISEF qualifying regional fair for international school students in China.Specialties: Science Instruction for ESL Students, Science Fair Coaching, School Play Director/Producer, Chapel/Assembly Speaker
