Research Associate & Applied Research Manager

• Design research projects to interpret statistical, economic, and other quantitative data; develop questionnaires, administer multimodal research programs and surveys, conduct data analyses, prepare reports, and present results with staff of professional economists• Complete economic impact analyses based on examination of available quantitative data and input-output modeling• Analyze large, complex datasets through analysis programs, statistical packages, and spreadsheets• Disaggregate and study economic data with crosstabulation by geography and demographic profile• Write programming syntax for data cleaning, merging, storing, and analyzing quantitative data, improving company-wide efficiency, increasing data reliability, and reducing time allotted for data analysis by an average of two weeks per project• Integrate quantitative data collected through in-house research with publicly available data from the American Community Survey, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Bureau of Economic Analysis• Author and present written, tabular, and graphical research products containing actionable recommendations to shareholders and other clientele; develop complex dashboards and data visualizations• Develop proposals and research plans for local/state governments and private enterprises, increasing firm’s annual revenue through new projects by nearly $200,000 in 2021• Day-to-day management of qualitative and quantitative research projects, including management of client relationships, team leadership, and supervision of staff
