I am the coordinator of Zimbabwe Artists Project, which encompasses many jobs. For ZAP I:• Curate art shows, ship art, hang art and coordinate art sales.• Do outreach in the form of letter writing, phone calls, speaking engagements and presentations because ZAP relies on consistently finding new venues to show art • Manage the volunteers and facilitate the process of volunteer work parties to prepare art for shipments and for art shows.• Write newsletters using templates from Vertical Response.• Maintain the storage of the art and all of the supplies, ensuring they are organized

Beginning as a classroom teacher, I saw the amazingly positive results of using the techniques and philosophy of Positive Discipline when working with children. After having my own children and seeing the results at home, I began to share these ideas and strategies with other parents. I stated my own business in 1999, teaching the Positive Discipline approach, helping adults to work effectively with children to consciously foster the development of life skills, compassion, responsibility mutual respect and competence. I then began to share this incredible technique with public school and private school teachers and child care providers. I followed with training people to teach these core concepts to other adults in ways that are interactive and engaging, taking into consideration differing learning styles. • 2006 One on one parent coaching• 2008 Lead Trainer, certified to train internationally for Positive Discipline and to teach others to train. • Led audio workshops and facilitated a series of video teleconferences in order to mentor the growing population of PD professionals • Co created and led the annual PD Conference in San Diego California 2012-2015• Took a leading role in the local Portland Positive Discipline Mentoring group.

I taught grade 2 at Montezuma Elementary School and grade 4 at Susie Rayos Marmon. I then taught in a very innovative program called "Family School"wherein I taught children from grades 1-5 in one classroom for half days and they were home schooled in the afternoon. I taught methodology classes to the parents at night once a month to support their homeschooling efforts. I finished my career in Albuquerque as a first grade teachers's assistant to a struggling teacher.

I taught a fifth grade class, taking over from a teacher on leave and then stayed the following year to teach a combination grades 5 and 6 class. I would have continued as I had earned a permanent position; however, I moved to the US to marry my husband.
