Jonathan Glendening is a multi-award-winning feature film director, screenwriter, editor, and novelist with a rich career in the film industry. He has directed four internationally released films, available on Netflix, Amazon, and Apple TV, working with notable actors like Robert Englund (Freddy Kruger), Stephen Berkoff, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), and Sarah Douglas.Jonathan’s films have received numerous accolades, including ‘Best Horror’ for 13Hrs and three ‘Best Film’ awards for Summer Rain, which also won the ‘Audience Award’ at the Rome Independent Film Festival. As a screenwriter, he has had several scripts optioned and sold, and he frequently contributes as a script editor, helping to shape a wide range of projects.As the Creative Director of Summer Rain Films Ltd, Jonathan leads a production company that offers creative services for films and videos in the commercial sector, focusing on training, marketing, and exhibition. The company’s post-production arm, Sizzle-Reels, provides comprehensive editing services, including work for the BBC and feature films, managing all stages of post-production from rough cuts to final delivery.Jonathan’s filmmaking journey began early, with his first film at age 11 on Super 8mm, a three-minute adaptation of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. His teenage years were filled with filmmaking, earning him several awards, including five at the Cork Youth International Film Festival for his project Call of Darkness.He started his professional career as a runner on the TV series Capital City at Elstree Studios, quickly advancing in the industry. His short film Roadside won multiple awards and caught the attention of industry figures like Stephen Woolley and Kenneth Branagh, leading to opportunities such as assisting on the Oscar-winning The Madness of King George.Jonathan’s debut feature, Summer Rain, earned international acclaim and established his reputation in the industry.
