Managed a staff of 5 people for the Infrastructure Group, Environment consisted of 600 VM’s using a vSphere 5.5 Cluster. The data center was at the Corporate Head Quarters with 180 users using a active/active site failover at the Mesa office that consisted of 800 users using Cisco OTV technology. The mesa office used a terminal server farm using Cisco ACE load balancers. Worked closely with outside vendors to negotiate pricing. I implemented Direct Access for users that needed an “always” on solution. Was on-call for a weekly rotation splitting duties with the rest of my team. Coordinated outside FTP access for new banking partners for the financial end of the business.

I was in charge of all infrastructure related aspect of the company including all servers, networking, desktops and connectivity with the field teams. Redesigned the entire infrastructure that consists of a multi-domain multi-site network. Managed and implemented entire infrastructure move to go from one office to another and moving all servers into a co-lo facility. Replaced all network equipment with cisco switches and routers. Contracted third party vendors for all PRI and internet needs with 100 MB QMOE to datacenter and 20 MB connections to each site. In charge of all vendor selections for software and hardware needs based on previous relationships. Performed software audits for licensing for 3rd party requests and Microsoft audits. In charge of hardware and software selection based on company needs and budgets purposes. Designed field team setup for field medical visits and security using xray software with HIPAA compliancy and security in mind which reduce hardware replacement costs and helpdesk ticket requests. Designed and built a 3 node Hyper-V cluster using a Dell Compellent SAN on the back-end for full redundancy and fail-over. Ensured all servers were 100% patched and updated each month on a recurring schedule. In charge of all email connectivity and implemented all anti-spam and email business continuity. Migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. Implemented all Cisco ASA firewall changes for ACL’s and NAT translations. Wrote numerous Powershell scripts for automation of various tasks. Implemented SCCM 2012 for software and hardware inventory along with detailed reporting. Maintained SQL Server databases. Standardized all hardware across all three sites. Implemented a terminal server solution for remote access from the other locations. In charge of desktop support personnel in all three locations that included the Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia offices. I was on call 24/7 for any IT related issues.

In charge of all infrastructure based servers for the entire organization. I was in charge of the entire Active Directory domain for all offices based in 3 countries and a total of 7 sites using 100 Meg MPLS between all of them. I implemented all data replication between sites using Microsoft DFS technologies. In charge of a 4 node Exchange environment using Exchange 2007 using Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR) and load balancing on the front end. Secured Active Directory to follow HIPAA compliancy rules and best practices for security and user authentication. Used Powershell to automate specific tasks in AD and Exchange to greatly reduce the time it took for long tasks. Assisted other departments for patient xray processing and infrastructure back-end tasks to ensure redundancy and data resiliency. Managed all company backups and restores for HIPAA compliancy purposes. Responsible for all server maintenance, upgrades, and build-out using Vsphere 4.1. 90% of all servers were virtualized across the company. Created VMware templates for easy server setups. Aside from my managerial duties I also designed infrastructure and client solutions for both the corporate network and our secured data center at Sungard availability center for clients. Secured the infrastructure perimeter using Cisco ASA 5520’s. Created all ACL’s and NAT translations for outside ports for client and internal connectivity. Created security documents for SAS70 compliancy audits and corporate security procedures. Designed and implemented a Microsoft Clustered Exchange in the back-end and Microsoft NLB on the front end. The design included a front and back-end system for offloading RPC over HTTP. I designed and maintained all windows related services including SQL Server, Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco IP Phones, Cisco ASA security appliances. Cisco series switches and network equipment. Migrated to a BlackBerry device enterprise security model using Verizon wireless as the preferred vendor and consolidated all cell phones to a shared data plan to avoid overages. Designed and setup a 100 Mbit fiber connection to the internet via Qwest and 2 T1 lines for our Cisco Phone System with the assistance of Qwest. Successfully moved the entire corporate infrastructure from our old location to a new building while coordinating with building codes, permits, vendors, data center design, cooling, security, and network layout and card key badges access. Increased security through means of company policies and procedures including PGP data encryption services for all laptops.

Headed up the managed services side of this startup company. Designed networks for small to medium businesses in a cost effective manner using Microsoft based services and solutions. Networks were designed based on clients’ needs and budgets. Integrated solutions with third party vendors to provide other services such as phone systems and internet connectivity and security. Managed accounts in all aspects from billing to design. Obtained Microsoft partner status though certification and other Microsoft requirements. I reduced client’s business costs by affectively reducing their overhead in staffing. provided solutions in a manner where they did not have to obtain a high cost IT staff. Numerous Microsoft services were utilized from Exchange to server clustering SQL Server and terminal services. Was in charge of a 7 member IT team. I Redesigned an NT 4.0 Network to a Windows Server 2000 / 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure. Redefining the DHCP scopes. Rebuilt the entire company’s backup solution by creating a single centralized backup server using Dantz Retrospect server 6.5. Successfully setup a directly connected network for our Call Center & Warehouse out of state using 2 T1’s and Terminal Services in Iowa saving the company thousands of dollars. Setup secured wireless access using Cisco 1200 series AP’s Successfully Built a Load-Balanced Web Farm using 2 IIS 6.0 Web Servers running Windows 2003 Web Edition. In charge of all IIS functionality for all company web sites including backups, security, virtual web and FTP sites. Responsible for all Domain registrations and renewals via Network Solutions that totaled approximately 110 domain names. Responsible for maintaining all SQL 2000 Servers that also included moving and exporting data queries from 1 database to another on different servers. Automated SQL Queries to pull records that expire based on contract expiration date and automatically emailing end users twice a week using SQL triggers and DTS packages. Responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of ExchangeMigrated Exchange 5.5 to a separate Exchange 2003 Server within the same Active Directory Site using recipient connection agreements without losing a single mailbox and was completely transparent to the users. Assisted in setting up a Cisco 3600 Series router for 3 data T1 lines. Redesigned all security for all servers including group design and permissions restructuring. Created logon scripts for use in DC’s for user accounts to be automated. Designed group policies for client setting such as automatically generated proxy settings. Was on a team of 6 individuals that were resposible for all Windows Servers for the state of Arizona. I was in cahrge of all backups that included approximately 15 backup servers that backed up all clients in the Tempe location because all chip diagrams needed to be backed up along with all localized data on every single desktop in the site that consisted of rougly 2000 desktops. Responsible for all Active directory aspects and user accounts. redesigned the back-end storage security requirements and storage vendor selection. Tasks included consolidating user data to the back-end dell storage to reduce and eventually eliminate the need to backup all client desktops that included Windiws and Mac based clients using Retroepect. Acted as a department liason for Server related needs and projects. Mentored help desk staff with guidance and training.
