I guess I just love solving problems with code, and helping others makes me feel good. With iCrumz I'm excited to be contributing to a great new idea in computer access. Imagine a new and better way to discover, organize and share the world's information!Educated in digital electronics, I began building software programs in the 80's. The first was in Machine language on a processor I built from discrete components. Later, I used Assembly language when programming embedded systems that I designed and built.As PCs became available it was Basic, FoxBase, Turbo Pascal, C, Cold Fusion, PHP, Java/Spring and currently, full stack JavaScript. I have worked on many projects meeting a wide variety of business and industrial needs.Always on the search to reduce complexity and development 'overhead', I've worked through many languages and frameworks and have come to the conclusion that one language on client and server really makes sense and frameworks don't. In spite of the attraction of having so much work done for me 'out of the box' by a framework, I'm always working toward readability, maintainability and simplicity. In the present, I've settled on JavaScript, and no framework at all. I decided to spend my time mastering the language, not the framework.Today, I'm working in full stack Javascript; server and client, Node.js, Webpack, Riot.js, Redux, React, to name a few, in a highly modular architecture, and I'm lovin' it.Never content to stand still for too long, today, I'm studying Rust with an eye toward augmenting web apps with Rust driven WASM. The future of web apps looks brighter than ever!

Aug 2012 - PresentVentura, Ca, UsAs CTO, I built the entire iCrumz application from the CEO (Matthew Graczyk)'s specifications.I created iCrumz.com, from provisioning Rack Space Cloud Servers and setting up the Linux OS to configuring DNS and secure certificates for the iCrumz domain, in addition to developing the iCrumz application.iCrumz version 1, now in production, is built on a Java, Spring, Tomcat platform with a no-framework Javascript front end.iCrumz version 2, now in development, is transitioning to a modern Node.js based, modular, Universal (also called isomorphic) all Javascript architecture. PHP framework Based WebsitesAfter studying the Mojavi PHP framework, I created a custom framework based on many of the principles. It has been used to create functioning websites. This framework facilitates the site owner's maintenance of the site without extensive HTML or CSS knowledge. It accomplishes this mission without using an external database, which simplifies the site-owner's interaction with the underlying code.

Technical Department ManagerGeneral Neworks Jun 1990 - Sep 2001General Networks provides Computer Network consulting, sales, service and maintenance to businesses, educational and government institutions. As Technical Department Manager, I directed as many as seven field engineers and three administrative personnel. I made the following significant achievements while in this position:I Implemented a computer based management system to run the department which had been managed on paper and a white board.I Implemented an administration system which provided continuity of customer interaction from Sales to Technical and Accounting. I designed and developed software to support this administration system using Telemagic and then later created a more functional version using Microsoft Access.I Developed an engineer bonus system which made it possible for the company to overcome the loss of highly skilled engineers, while simultaneously increasing profits. Loss of skilled engineers was a significant barrier to the continued viability of the Technical department. The bonus program made it possible to increase engineer annual compensation from the 20k – 30k range up to the 60k – 80K range, and so attract and retain the skilled engineers required to make continued expansion of the department and company possible.
