Maya Angelou famously talked about changing what we don't like. "If you can't change it, change your attitude", she said. That phrase is one that guides my approach.I have become a seasoned adult educator and corporate trainer who thrives on connecting managers with latest insights to facilitate their accomplishing goals and transforming how they lead others. I came to corporate training through working in Higher Education teaching in UK university business schools.There I specialised in executive &, professional development and entrepreneurship learning programs over 20 years ago. I had come from retail and luxury service management and originally had a technical trainer background serving the beauty & aesthetics sector in my late teens and early 20s. There I was fascinated by the science of electro therapy and cosmetic chemistry and even the mechanics of how specific electrical currents like short wave diathermy, galvanism and ferradic electric charges were used to help people feel better about their looks.In my 40s I enjoyed a mid stream break from business school teaching and academe with an eight-year spell as an independent L&D consultant, thus I became a pracademic. Recently spending over six years at QA Ltd, I've moved from facilitating learning for professional adults from the private sector, FTSE 100 firms and UK public sector on the leadership and management degree apprenticeships, to now providing internal and external consulting around professional practices and management learning, across our public courses, bespoke offerings and the Digital by Design degrees R&D project. I hope that formally developing leaders to experience the benefits of personal transformation might foster more responsive, increasingly flexible and less toxic organisation cultures.
