Certified Public Accountant with Operations Experience Prior to my public accounting career, I was a shift manager at a plastics manufacturer. I then became an Operations Manager/Controller at a fuel distribution company. While these positions were early in my career, they have been invaluable to my successes as a CPA. When in public accounting, I was able to better communicate with clients because of my operational background. I’ve excelled at my Controller and CFO positions, because I’m able to understand, interact with and help improve the operations sides of the businesses.I started my public accounting career in January 1999 and continued for eight years. Looking for a change, I worked as a senior accountant at Corrpro Companies in Medina, Ohio. After only eighteen months as a senior accountant, I’m proud that I was trusted enough by Corrpro’s Chief Financial Officer and senior management to become Controller of Corrpro Canada, Inc. The $60 million dollar company is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Commuting once or twice a month and using technology such as Skype, we stabilized the accounting department, decreased DSO, increased gross profits and increased cash reserves by ~$3 million.Corrpro was sold to a publicly traded company and I helped lead the transition. Then I was asked by a former public accounting client to become Chief Financial Officer of Rain Drop Products. At Rain Drop, we’ve dramatically improved operational and reporting processes.
