Glenn Addison joins Wilmar, Inc. with over 36 years experience as a leader in product sales and business development for both the national and international markets. Prior to joining Wilmar, Glenn was a Senior Specialty Accounts Manager with Merck & Co., Inc., where he was a respiratory, pain and diabetes disease product specialist. He managed a diverse product portfolio and after a successful career with Merck, he elected to take an early retirement from the health care industry in 2014.From 1995 – 2001, Glenn was the Vice President for Transmedical, Inc., managing an international Export Management Company specializing in sales of medical products to hospitals in over 38 different countries. He led the negotiation and implementation of a mutli-million dollar contract for Georgetown Hospital in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. In addition, Glenn was an integral member of the joint venture/acquisition and licensing/business development teams, where he led due diligence, deal parameter and negotiation processes, resulting in future international business sales of over $20 million. Previous to this, Glenn held various positions as Director of Plans and Programs, Division Manager- Hospital and Alternate Site sales, Hospital Account Manager, and manager of Business Development. In 2009, he retired as a Colonel from the US Air Force Reserves after 30 years of service. He served as a squadron commander in Operation Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia and his awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.He is a 1979 graduate of The Citadel with a BS in Biology degree and holds a Master of Science degree in Management from Troy State University. He is a graduate of Air War College, Air Command and Staff College and Air Force Squadron Officers School. He served for 12 years as a member of The Citadel Board of Visitors having been elected by the SC General Assembly in 2002 and 2008.
