As I support our customers I'll be drawing on my direct skills as a software developer, but what really excites me is the opportunity to directly utilize all those 'soft skills' I developed over my career: customer support, technical documentation, and diagnosing of problems across a wide range of causes. At the end of the day, helping people is always what I've enjoyed most and I know I'll be able to excel in this role and find satisfaction as I help keep the supply chain up-and-running!

Our Software Projects Department at TKO has been growing rapidly. Our base software is undergoing a restructuring/recoding effort. In my role I am responsible for making sure everyone on our team is on the same page and moving in the same direction, never spinning their wheels. I maintain regular contact with our product development team and our project lead engineers. I help to coordinate cross training and necessary discussions with my department and all other departments in my company. I arrange meetings and training sessions as needed to support their efforts. I create and update work instructions to meet these goals as well. I help to onboard new personnel, making sure their roles and responsibilities are clear to them. I identify existing documentation, our coding methods, and the training opportunities to them. And I promote a sense of belonging, empowerment, and ownership throughout my team and our larger organization.

Responsible for providing customized, project specific software solutions for Warehouse Picking, Warehouse Management, Warehouse Execution systems by adapting our SmartMoves and CHAMP software products. I use end-to-end solutions primarily including SQL, C# API servers and Web based end-point solutions utilizing HTML and JavaScript

Hebron, Kentucky

Fives acquired MAG IAS's Hebron, KY business in 2013. I continued development and support of my many legacy systems. I took on two other major projects during this time. One was to simplify our ACE system interface into a second product. The purpose was to simplify limit its complexity by focusing only on core Composite Tape Layer part programming features. The user interface was, therefore, simplified greatly. Another project was to re-code a very old legacy system that supported the proprietary software licensing system used by our software products.

MAG IAS aquired the Hebron division of Unova Industrial Automation Systems in 2005. I continued in my current role.

Unova purchased the Machine Tool Group from Cincinnati Milacron in 1997. The company moved to Hebron, Kentucky in 2003. I continued working with the current systems when the company transitioned to ownership by Unova. I took sole ownership of another software product, ACRAPOST. ACRAPOST is a post processor used for programming the composite tape layer machines manufactured by the company. It is a part of the larger Advanced Composite Programming Environment (ACE).

I worked on a government sponsored research project, Intelligent Machining System, in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University. I became the primary developer of a Tool Crib Inventory System (TMS/2000) used internally by Cincinnati Milacron and also sold commercially. I became solely responsible for new development, documentation, training and customer support of TMS/2000. Also during this time I began working with C, Visual Basic, and Unix to support a data collection package that worked to collect data from our composites machinery. Again I was solely responsible for this development and its necessary support. In conjunction with this a program was written that read the collected data and produced reports.

Working in research at Cincinnati Milacron I developed an order entry system for our Electronic Systems Division, a machine sizing expert system for our Plastics Machinery Division and a recipe advisor system for our Epitaxial Wafer Division. In 1990 most research projects were shut down and I transitioned to a more traditional software development role within the company.
