RCU Solutions carries out a variety of services ranging from electrical, telecoms and civils works where our higher management and teams have vast experience delivering and working on multi-discipline projects. RCU Solutions Limited have been audited and certified by BSI for operating a Quality Management System - ISO 9001:2015, Environmental Management System - ISO 14001:2015 and Occupational Health & Safety Management System - ISO 45001:2018. We are also RISQS approved and hold Construction Line accreditations. Our scope which we was audited on for the above management systems covers the assembly, installation, inspection, test and commissioning of electrical and telecoms equipment and associated civil works for the railway, construction and utilities industries. Along with the supply of contingent labour.

Site Manager for the Telecoms/SCADA activities on the Thameslink KO2 project.I also successfully delivered Cardiff Area Signalling Renewal (CASR) Phase 3 & 4, Stages L, N and RORI on the Reading Station Area Renewal (RASR).

Whilst working for McNicholas Constriction I looked after their FTN GSM-R route works packages in and around London and the South. The works varied from Cable pulling/ Trough installation/ Telecom Cabinet Installation/ 4 Track UTX installations.I was looking after and overseeing our sub contractors carrying out the work regularly attending progress meetings and reporting back to the project management and commercial team. In March this year I moved into the office to undertake the production of WPP & TBS for our works. I also went on to produce SSOWP after completing the course.

Whilst working for telent on Thameslink KO1 I overlooked a wide varitey of works.In the time i was working on the project i worked both on site and in the office(James Forbes House).When i was working on site, I would oversee works that telent were contracted to carry out. This ranged from cable pulling, installing SPT's, BOP's & BOW's, Cable splicing/jointing and Testing. Installing Radiating cable(Leakey Feeder) from St Augustines to City Thameslink. Also worked on various ERI's. I carried out various surveys throught the job.When i was working in the office i would help plan the works with the Construction Manager. I would organise manpower, plant and materials for the planned works. Help produce Task briefings and Work Package Plans. I would attend various meetings(RAG, Progress reviews) with Network Rail.

I worked as a Civils Supervisor for Telent, working on FTN Fibre Tails Project. The Project involves installing concrete trough route, GRC thoughing, stakka boxes, cable ground anchors, UTX’s and fibre cable.Responsibilities:To ensure that every site is completed to the correct standard and that the bill of quantities is worked to.To make sure the site pack is completed correctly.To make sure all on site tasks are carried out in a safe manner.To make sure everyone is wearing full PPE.Issuing Permit to digs and Hot works permits.To ensure all staff on site are fully briefed on Task briefing and Work package plan.Update Project/Site manager on a daily basis.Arranging materials to get to the site.Organising manpower.Carrying out Site Surveys and As Builts

Whilst working as Civils Supervisor for Telent I was working on a project known as the South East DOO Project. The DOO project is a renewal of the Driver Operated Only system. This is where the train driver pulls in at a station platform and checks a set of monitor screens to see if any passengers are loading and is safe to pull out of the station. The work on the project was various civils activities which involved us to install platform extensions, concrete bases, concrete hardstands, retaining walls, handrail, cable duct routes, inspection chambers and camera posts on the platforms.Responsibilities:To ensure all works on site are completed in line with program and carried out safely.All correct PPE is being warn and in good order.To brief all staff on Tool box talks, Task briefings, Coshh briefings and Work package plan.Issue Hot works permit and Permit to dig.To complete daily diary sheets of all activities on site.To arrange getting materials and waste to and from site.Take photos of site before, during and after work is completed.To inform Site manager and Project manager with site progress.To make sure at the end of the day the job gets done and everyone goes home safe and in one piece.Achievements:Gained my HV Competent Person.Dealing with Method statements, Task briefs, Work package plans, on site activities and carrying out risk assessments helped me gain my CITB SSSTS qualification.

TES 2000 are a subcontracting company who supply manpower to Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, Mouchel, Grant Rail.Whilist working for TES i carried out the following works; Renewals, Re-rails, Civil’s, Maintence and Lighting jobs. Responsibilities:Ganger of 6 man Civil’s gang. Making sure works get completed correctly and on time.Coss of 6 man Civil’s gang. Setting up safe working system, making sure every one is safe.Daily diary sheets and time sheets.Signing in and out by phone to SACS.Liaising with Supervisor, Operations Manager and Project Managers.Making sure everyone has correct PPE and tools for the job.Making sure the site at the end of works is left safe, clear and tidy.Looking after 6+ operatives working on Renewal and Re-rail sites.Carrying out track inspections and track maintence duties.Carrying out COSS/IWA, LKT, AOD HSM/LXA/PO duties.Carrying out COSS(P) mentoring.Achievements:I joined TES 2000 as a new starter to the Network Rail infrastructure and gained my Lookout/Site warden, COSS/IWA, AOD HSM, AOD LXA and AOD PO. Whilst working for TES 2000, I worked for various clients and gained confidence with dealing working under pressure and to a tight time limit. Got given a 6 man gang in January 2008 to December 2008, for a Civil’s re-signaling project with Mouchel to look after and to organize.

Simcott are a subcontractor Company supplying various skilled manpower to new build companies i.e. Barratt Homes, George Wimpey, Persimmon Homes and Bryant Homes.Responsibilities of General labourer:Making good of any imperfections of interiors of buildings.Making sure materials were kept safe and tidy in the stores.Making sure builders had the correct materials to be getting on with the job.Putting out safety mats for roofers.Making sure that all walkways were clear of cables, debris and other tripping hazards.

Travis Perkins is a builders Merchants, selling building materials to the trade and public. I completed 2 weeks of work experience with the yard foreman whilst at school and got offered a Saturday yardman position till I had completed my GCSE’s. Once I had completed my GCSE’s, I took up a full time position as yardman. I worked in the yard for 1 year and 4 months before moving up into the office to take the role as sales advisor. Worked in the office for 9 months, then took the role of yard foreman.Responsibilities of Yardman:Keeping yard tidy.Serving customers and showing them products in the yard.Loading and unloading lorries.Responsibilities of Sales Advisor:Dealing with customer complaints.Taking phone calls.Taking money off customers.Cashing in at the end of the day.Putting orders in with suppliers.Poaching customers from rival companies.Responsibilities of Yard foreman:In charge of yard activities. Looking after 2 delivery lorries and 5 yardman.Random security checks on vehicles that leave the yard.Making sure deliveries went out with the right stock and on time.Making sure materials were in stock.Doing stock takes.Ordering in stock.Achievements:Worked my way up over three years to Yard foreman.Able to deal with customers under pressure.Counterbalance forklift licence.
